A self-employed farm consultant from Otorohanga, Sam Williams, will join other grand finalists in the national Young Farmer contest after winning the Waikato/Bay of Plenty event.
He was third in the regional final last year.
More winners have also been announced in the regional dairy awards.
The Central Plateau Sharemilkers of the Year are Larry and Maria Perrott, who are sharemilking at Atiamuri.
The Regional Farm Manager title went to Rhys and Pen Bullock, who are contract milking at Reporoa.
And the Dairy Trainee of the Year, Brady Mitchell, is a production manager on a Landcorp farm at Reporoa.
A Murchison couple, Chris and Donna Murphy, have won the Sharemilking title for the West Coast-Top of the South region.
Maria Carlson, from Canvastown in Marlborough is the Farm Manager of the Year, and
Andrea Harvey has the dairy trainee title.
