Napier shearer John Kirkpatrick won the Northern Shears open title at the Royal Easter Show in Auckland on Sunday.
It was the second win in a week for John Kirkpatrick after an 11-show drought in which he was runner-up seven times.
Gisborne's Tama Niania claimed the senior title, while Manawatu teenager Sarah Goss was victorious in the junior section.
Top shearers will next weekend battle for the last position in New Zealand's team for the year's world championships in Wales in July.
