Wool prices improved at this week's North and South Island wool sales, despite a stronger New Zealand currency.
Wool Services International says a tighter supply of wool and the cancellation of last week's sale, due to wet weather affecting shearing, increased buyer demand.
Mid micron fleece was 1% - 2% dearer this week, with fine crossbred wool also fetching up to 2% more.
Second shears and first lambs wool were up to 3% dearer.
More than 70% of the 8700 bales offered for auction were sold.
