NZ shearing team loses narrowly to Scotland

The New Zealand shearing team was narrowly beaten by Scotland in the opening round of the World Championship tour in Britain.

A mere eight-hundredths of a point separated New Zealand from Scotland at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh.

Central Hawke's Bay shearer Cam Ferguson won the individual title at the event, but a rare off-performance by shearing legend David Fagan allowed the Scots to clinch team honours.

Fagan is still one win away from reaching the milestone of 600 wins in open-class competition.
