NZ well placed at world shearing contest

New Zealand is well placed after the first two days of competition at the world shearing and woolhandling championships in Wales.

Reigning world champion for woolhandling, Sheree Alabaster from Taihape, leads the field after the first two rounds in her event,

Teammate Keryn Herbert of Te Awamutu, is in fifth place.

David Fagan and Cam Ferguson have also qualified in first place for the final of the teams machine shearing championship.

Both have also made the semi-finals for the individual shearing event.
