New Zealand has won three of the six titles at the 14th Golden Shears world shearing and woolhandling championships in Wales.

Cam Ferguson of Hawke's Bay won the machine shearing event over teammate David Fagan, who was runner-up. The pair also won the teams title.

Sheree Alabaster of Taihape and Keryn Herbert of Te Awamutu won the woolhandling teams title. Alabaster was second to Bronwen Tango of Wales in the individual final.

Blades shearers Brian Thomson and Allen Gemmell were third in their team event. Thomson repeated this result in the individual blades final.

Ferguson and Fagan will shear the final in a Test series against Wales on Thursday, when they hope to wrap-up the series 4-0.
