A national beekeepers group is calling for the beekeeping industry to form a single industry body.
The National Beekeepers Association says there are number of issues affecting the industry and stakeholders need to unite to ensure their needs are met.
President Frans Laas says the single voice would represent producers, packers, exporters and marketers.
He says the association is currently considering several possible models for the new organisation, which it will then present to the industry.
