Prices were mixed at this week's North and South Island wool sales, with recent rises in the New Zealand dollar challenging the returns for some types.
Wool Services International reports that fine crossbred fleece and shears were up to 4% cheaper.
Coarse crossbred fleece was generally firm, but lambs' fleece eased back a little.
While long oddments ranged from 1% - 2% easier, prices for short oddments were 2% - 6% stronger.
Overall, 80% of the 15,500 bales on offer were sold.
