A temporary suspension of New Zealand beef imports into Indonesia has been lifted.
The ban was put in place on 7 July after Indonesian authorities said they were concerned at labelling and halal certification.
Lifting of the suspension came after a meeting between New Zealand Trade Minister Phil Goff and a senior Indonesian trade delegation.
Mr Goff says he told them he was concerned that the ban was imposed without notice and without prior dialogue. He says it's still not clear why the ban was imposed.
He told Morning Report he does not believe the decision was made at a Ministerial level and there is some speculation that business concerns inside Indonesia were behind the ban.
Indonesia is New Zealand's sixth biggest export market for beef. It takes between 3% - 4% of beef exports, worth more than $NZ90 million.
