Northern drought seen as bonues for winemakers

Winemakers in Northland are relishing the effects of last summer's drought, which has produced some intensively flavoured wines.

Monty Knight, from Okahu Estate near Kaitaia, says the 2010 vintage is exceptional.

He told Country Life the extreme dry conditions are proving perfect for grape ripening and flavouring.
