New Zealand and Dutch scientists are about to embark on a highly ambitious research programme: finding ways of solving global protein shortages, to feed an ever-growing world population.
Agriculture Minister David Carter launched new partnership this week between Massey university-based Riddet Institute and Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
The Dutch university is an international leader in food-related research and the Riddet Institute, which is a partnership of New Zealand universities and research institutes, is also focused on food.
The new collaboration, PROTEOS, is tackling the dilemma of producing more food with less environmental impact.
