Organisers of an Ag in Action farm machinery event are keen to repeat it, after the response they got to the opening show in Waikato.
Exhibitors at last week's two day event were able to put their machines through their paces on 15 large demonstration sites, making it different from agricultural fieldays and A&P shows, where equipment is usually on static display.
Some 2000 - 3000 attended, which event manager Andrew Reymer says was well above what was expected.
And the number of sales made was also surprising given poor weather and a slow economy.
Mr Reymer says the organisers will talk to the Tractor and Machinery Association about the possibility of running Ag in Action events every two years, or alternating them between the North and South Islands.
