Fertiliser companies hold back price rises

The country's two big fertiliser co-operatives are holding back price rises in the wake of the earthquake in Christchurch.

Ravensdown and Ballance Agri-Nutrients have both warned that international demand is putting fertiliser prices under pressure again.

Ravensdown says it is delaying its planned price increase on fertiliser products until the end of March, while Ballance Agri-Nutrients says it is holding fertiliser prices until at least April.
