A record number of exhibitors have set up shop at the country's biggest regional Field Days which opens in Fielding on Thursday.
There are just over 500 exhibitors, up from the previous record of 493, set in 2009.
Central Districts Field Days event manager Cheryl Riddell says the event caters for all areas of farming, yet is still small enough to get around in a day.
She says 500 sites were pre-sold and other exhibitors have still been phoning and turning up at the last minute.
Cheryl Riddell says the tractor pull and national excavator competition are among the featured events.
