A Christchurch milk company estimates the February earthquake has cost it about 10% of its business, as people left the city.
Klondike Fresh Ltd. bottles milk for sale to dairies and smaller retailers, as well as for home delivery. It also supplies the Warehouse in the South Island.
Director Graeme Brown says the loss of sales following the earthquake in February and the 4 September is in addition to the financial squeeze from the rising cost of buying raw milk.
Mr Brown says Klondike Fresh's plant at Hornby wasn't damaged in the February quake, but about a quarter of its 19 staff had their homes wrecked.
