Rural servicing and livestock companies collected nearly $152,000 for the Christchurch earthquake relief cause.
The money was from donations by clients as well as some of the proceeds of livestock sales during March.
PGG Wrightson, Elders, ATS, Farmlands and livestock companies affiliated with the Stock & Station Association, collected the donations in response to requests from rural businesses and farmers.
The money will be handed over to the Christchurch Earthquake fund this month.
Other contributions to the earthquake appeal from the rural sector include $3 million contributed by Fonterra and its shareholders and a large donation from Elders Primary Wool, which came from contributions from farmers, staff and customers.
