NZ stand at Korean food fair seen as worthwhile

Beef + Lamb New Zealand says that having a stand at the largest food exhibition in South Korea to promote prime cuts of New Zealand beef, was certainly worth the cost.

The Seoul food and hotel trade fair attracted almost 37,000 people over four days last month.

Beef + Lamb was one of ten meat industry organisations from New Zealand to take part in the fair.

Korea marketing manager John Hundleby says it's hard to measure success in material terms.

But there was a huge amount of positive feedback from hundreds of trade and media people who sampled prime beef steak cuts cooked by New Zealand chef and food writer Robert Oliver.

Mr Hundleby says he hopes New Zealand's presence at the trade fair will results in an increase in beef exports to Korea in the next six to nine months.
