New Zealand shearing champion Rowland Smith has won the British Golden Shears open title at the Royal Bath and West Show in England.
The 24-year-old, who is based in the Hawke's Bay, won in a hotly contested six-man final.
Rowland Smith won the New Zealand open title in Te Kuiti earlier this year after considering giving up the sport in 2009 because of a major back injury.
