The newly-retired Federated Farmers president, Don Nicolson, says he's keeping his options open about a possible future in politics.
Mr Nicolson last week ended his three-year term as the farmers' president.
There has been speculation about approaches from political parties, including ACT.
Mr Nicolson says he's happy for the conjecture to continue while he ponders his future.
He says the only thing he's sure about is that he won't be restocking his Southland farm and going back to farming full time.
