New Zealand beef was on the menu at another giant barbecue in Japan this week for people displaced by the earthquake and tsunami on 11 March.
Beef + Lamb New Zealand previously hosted three barbecues in areas hit by the tsunami, serving New Zealand steaks by the hundreds.
Chair Mike Petersen attended the latest one this week, while he was in Japan as part of a New Zealand delegation attending trade talks.
He saw first hand the devastation caused by the tsunami and found it a sobering experience.
New Zealand beef comprises about 7% of the Japanese market.
