The agency trying to control the PSA disease in kiwifruit orchards is introducing a ban on the movement of machinery and equipment.
Some 249 blocks, 84% of which are in the greater Te Puke region, now have the disease which was first discovered last November.
Kiwifruit Vine Health says the movement restriction follows concerns from regional kiwifruit grower committees.
General manager John Burke says the ban will remain in force for the forseeable future.
