Agriculture Minister David Carter will open an inaugural Red Meat sector conference in Rotorua on Sunday.
The two day conference has attracted more than 170 registrations from farmers, meat processing companies and exporters.
It's being jointly hosted by the Meat Industry Association and Beef + Lamb New Zealand.
Beef + Lamb chief executive Scott Champion says the recently launched red meat strategy will be the major focus.
He says international speakers with an expertise in marketing, will provide insights for capturing the benefits of the strategy, which aims to increase red meat exports from $8 billion per year, to more than $11 billion by 2025.
