NZ wool in London exhibition

6:55 pm on 10 September 2011

New Zealand wool products are featuring in an exhibition in London.

The Wool Modern exhibition is the focal point of Wool Week in Britain and is the latest event in the international Campaign for Wool, which was launched last year.

It aims to break new ground in uses for wool by exhibiting work by leading fashion and interior designers.

New Zealand representative Stephen Fookes says the exhibition will be the launch pad for a series of Campaign for Wool events in Europe.

Exhibitors include fashion designers Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Sonia Rykiel, and interior designers such as Johanna Richter of Germany and Angela Wright of England.

An exhibit by Dutch designer Christien Meindertsma uses New Zealand merino wool supplied by the exporter, H Dawson.

It's open at La Galleria in Pall Mall until the end of the month.
