Rural servicing company PGG Wrightson will be focusing on grass seed and dairy cattle exports to China through a new office it is opening in Beijing.
The move comes about as result of China-based agriculture company Agria Corporation becoming PGGW's majority shareholder earlier this year.
PGG Wrightson's chief financial officer Rob Woodgate says it will use Agria's network in China to develop sales there.
He says it is getting very strong demand for quality grass seed into China.
Mr Woodgate says there is a potential opportunity for PGGW to utilise the relationship with Agria.
