A relief milker died in a quad bike accident in central Taranaki on Monday morning.
Police at Stratford say she set out to herd the cows on a farm at Te Popo near Midhurst at about 5.30am.
The farm manager noticed the milking shed was idle and found the woman, 19, with the quad bike on top of her.
Sergeant Mark Johnson says her next-of-kin, a local family, are being informed.
