Hort NZ to keep up pressure on new govt

1:39 pm on 1 December 2011

The national horticulture industry organisation says it will be keeping the pressure on the incoming government to tighten up biosecurity standards.

Hort NZ has listed the goal as one of its priorities following the general election.

Chief executive Peter Silcock says the horticulture industry is not happy with cutbacks and lapses in biosecurity and will be pushing for significant progress over the next three years.

He says Hort NZ will also keep up its campaign for mandatory country of origin labelling.
