Labour Department inspectors have issued almost 200 quad bike safety enforcement notices to farmers.
More than 500 farms were visited during spring, as part of a campaign to reduce the high accident rate involving the use of quad bikes (all terrain vehicles) on farms.
An average of five people are killed and 850 are injured each year while riding quad bikes on farms.
The quad bike safety campaign has four key steps:
always wear a helmet,
make sure riders are experienced or trained,
never let kids ride adult quad bikes, and
choose the right vehicle for the job.
