Union wants milk price inquiry to dig deep

The Dairy Workers Union says Parliament's milk price inquiry needs to expose the real pressure points of milk and dairy product pricing.

It's welcomed the decision by the Commerce Select Committee to continue the inquiry started last year.

National secretary James Ritchie says the union does not believe that farmers are paid too much for their milk and the main drivers of domestic milk prices lie at the wholesale and retail level, beyond the farm gate.
