Injury setback for the Blues

2:11 pm on 3 March 2012

A setback for the Blues rugby side with Jerome Kaino and Rudi Wulf ruled out of their Super Rugby trip to South Africa because of injury.

Wulf suffered an AC joint injury in last night's loss to the Chiefs and will be out of action for up to a month, while kaino has a shoulder injury and will miss next weekend's match at the Bulls, but may be considered after that.

Peter Saili will join the squad travelling to the Republic to provide loose forward cover but no-one will replace Wulf as the Blues leave a spot open for Kaino should he recover in time to face the Stormers.

Blues head coach Pat Lam it's a big blow but that's just the nature of the game.

On a positive note, Charlie Faumuina has recovered from a knee injury and will be fit to play the Bulls.

The Blues have lost both of their opening matches.
