Durante believes Gold Coast problems make them a tougher assignment

The Wellington Phoenix captain Andrew Durante believes the problems which have plagued Gold Coast United will only galvinse the side ahead of their A League football match in Wellington today.

Football Federation Australia has revoked the licence of Gold Coast owner Clive Palmer saying he's brought the game into disrepute amidst a long running dispute between the two parties.

Durante says he knows how the Gold Coast players feel given the doubt that surrounded the Phoenix participation in the competition when former owner Terry Serepisos lost control of the club.

He says that experience brought the Phoenix players closer together and he expects the same from Gold Coast.
