The Canterbury wicket keeper Kruger van Wyk is in line to make his test cricket debut having been called into the Black Caps squad as cover for BJ Watling.
The Black Caps physiotherapist Paul Close says Watling has a hip problem and they'll will monitor it over the next 24 hours and see how he comes through training before making a decision on whether he play in Wednesday's first test against South Africa in Dunedin.
