Ropati injury not as serious as first thought

The ankle injury to Warriors centre Jerome Ropati is not as serious as first thought and he's likely to be back on the field sooner than originally anticipated.

Ropati lasted only half an hour in the Warriors season opening loss to the Warriors before being forced from the field in his first NRL game in almost a year after his 2011 was cut short by a serious knee injury.

It was initially thought the ankle injury would keep Ropati out for six weeks but team doctor John Mayhew says an MRI scan has shown no serious injury and he hopes Ropati will be to play in three or four weeks.
