Canterbury have guaranteed themselves second place in the New Zealand Football Premiership after beating Waitakere United 2-1 in Auckland.
In a match that had 12 cards issued, Waitakere had 2 players sent off in the second half.
With minor premiers Auckland City already assured of one of New Zealand's two spots in Oceania champions league football next season, Canterbury will claim the second unless fellow semi-finalists Waitakere United or Team Wellington, go on to win the Grand Final next month.
Auckland City beat Otago 3-1 in Dunedin, Wellington beat Manawatu 6-nil and Hawke's Bay beat Waikato 3-2.
