The Perth Wildcats took full advantage of the undermanned Cairns Taipans to record a crucial 94-59 national basketball league win last night.
With Townsville beating Gold Coast on Saturday night, Cairns needed a second win in Perth in three weeks to avoid falling a game behind fourth spot.
But with star big men Alex Loughton and Ian Crosswhite missing through injury the task proved too much.
Perth consolidated second position as they bounced back from tough home losses to the Taipans and New Zealand Breakers.
