New Zealand Cricket have released a statement dismissing claims made in a London newspaper, which contained allegations that New Zealand players offered to meet with bookmakers.
An article published in The Sunday Times says the International Cricket Council is to investigate claims that Indian bookmakers, have been fixing English county cricket matches as well as international fixtures.
The newspaper says its reporters had undercover meetings with bookmakers who boasted recruiting players from countries including New Zealand to throw part or all of international games.
Chief Executive David White says New Zealand cricket has complete confidence that the claims made are baseless and have no credibility.
He says the sources are not credible and the accusations are unsubstantiated making it irresponsible, damaging and untrue.
He says the integrity and reputation of the game is paramount and New Zealand cricket has confidence that its players share those ideals.
