The world tennis number one Victoria Azarenka and Russia's Maria Sharapova are still on course for a showdown in the final of the Indian Wells tennis tournament in California, but the defending champion Caroline Wozniacki has been eliminated by Serbia's Ana Ivanovic.
Azarenka took her unbeaten run this year to 20 matches on her way through to the quarter-finals, while Sharapova dropped only three games against an Italian opponent.
