Tendulkar ton ends agonising wait in India

Cricketing maestro Sachin Tendulkar added to his mythical status by becoming the first person to score 100 centuries overnight, ending a year-long wait by cricket fans at home in India and around the globe.

With a comfortable single off Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan, Sachin Tendulkar achieved a feat in the one day international which won't be easily emulated.

It has been more than a year since the batting master reached 99 centuries with his 111 against South Africa in the World Cup in Nagpur on March 12 last year.

Tendulkar played 11 test matches and 13 one-dayers during the 12 months getting to the nervous nineties twice, but somehow stopped short of getting past the mark.

Despite Tendulkar's hundred, India ultimately lost the match by five wickets.
