Canes captain wants respect

The Hurricanes are back in Wellington for their first home game of the Super Rugby season on Saturday night and face their first real test against the Highlanders.

Mark Hammett's men have won their last two games, albeit against the Lions and the Force, but both were on the road and the performances went some way to silencing their doubters.

Captain Conrad Smith knows victory over the Highlanders will keep the naysayers at bay, but he says the Hurricanes want to do more than just that.

Smith's keen for his Canes to play with a bit of pride in the jersey and win fans' respect back.
