Rangers go down at Dundee United, set up explosive Celtic game

8:14 am on 18 March 2012

The Scottish football giants' Rangers woes continue, losing 2-1 at Dundee United on Sunday.

Rangers were docked 10 points when they entered administration recently, handing the title to Glasgow rivals Celtic, and now they're just three points off third-placed Motherwell after losing to United in Dundee.

Motherwell can leapfrog Rangers with a home win over Aberdeen later on Sunday.

Rangers' loss also sets up a potentially explosive scenario whereby Celtic could win the Scottish Premier League title at Ibrox.

The police have already expressed concern about the possibility of Celtic being able to claim the league at their rivals' ground next weekend.
