Cipriani returning to English rugby

Wallaby James O'Connor's temporary move to the inside backs at the Melbourne Rebels is set to become more permanent following first choice first five Danny Cipriani's decision to return to England.

The 24-year-old Englishman has signed a three-year deal with the Sale Sharks, and he'll be joining them following the Super Rugby season.

Cipriani has always made clear his desire to resurrect his England career, which stalled on seven Tests after falling out with the England coach Martin Johnson.

Cipriani's prodigious rugby talent has been overshadowed by off-the-field disciplinary issues.

In the meantime he says he's "100 per cent committed" to playing out the season for the winless Rebels who say the popular Englishman is going with their blessing.
