Ronaldo scores twice as Real maintain lead in La Liga

Cristiano Ronaldo has taken his Spanish football League goal tally to 37 as Real Madrid maintained their six-point lead over Barcelona with a 5-1 rout of Osasuna.

Ronaldo scored twice.

But Barca kept up the pressure with a 2-nil victory over Athletic Bilbao in a game where Lionel Messi took his league scoring total to 36.

The Argentine now has 56 goals in all tournaments this season, nine more than his great rival at Real.

Zaragoza moved off the bottom of the table with a 2-1 victory over Sporting Gijon who are now in last place on goal difference with Racing Santander who were beaten 1-nil by Granada.
