11:32 am on 4 April 2012

Team New Zealand's Volvo Ocean race entry Camper has officially suspended racing as it prepares to undergo repairs in Chile.

Camper still has 300 kilometres to go to Puerto Montt where they'll meet up with their shore-based crew to carry out repairs to the bulkhead.

The work's expected to take three days.

Camper's currently in fifth place, 3200 kilometres behind leg leader Puma and still has over 5,000 kilometres to sail to reach the end of the leg in Itajai in Brazil.
