South Africa's test cricket captain Graeme Smith will miss the Indian Premier League, which starts this week, having just undergone ankle surgery.
Smith was due to play another IPL season with Pune Warriors, but the ankle had been troubling him for some time, and he decided to have the surgery to ensure he was fully fit for the tour to England in July.
