Aleph pulls out of America's Cup

France's Aleph team has pulled out of the America's Cup, claiming a lack of financial clout to see the tournament out to the end.

Aleph team head Philippe Ligot says they didn't want to find themselves in the position of having insufficient funds to compete with the big teams.

Aleph's withdrawal leaves nine teams representing seven countries racing the fourth regatta of the America's Cup World Series in naples next week.

The ACWS series allows teams and their sailors to prepare for the Louis Vuitton Cup, the America's Cup Challenger Series and the September 2013 America's Cup Finals in San Francisco.
