Bike New Zealand's High performance manager says the results at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Melbourne over the weekend show that our cyclists are on the right path heading to the Olympics.

Alison Shanks' gold medal in the women's 3000m individual pursuit topped the weekend and brought the New Zealand tally to five medals.

Peformance Director, Mark Elliott, says expectations will be high going to London, given that a number of the riders are stepping it up on the world stage at pinnacle events and achieving personal bests.
