The defending champion New Zealand Breakers are in the boxseat of their Australian National Basketball League Grand Final after beating the Perth Wildcats in overtime in the first match-up in Auckland's Vector Arena.
The Breakers won 104-98 in overtime and now head to Perth next week for the second match in the best of three series.
The Breakers blew a 15-point lead at the half-way mark but fought back in the fourth quarter to level the scores at full-time and a crucial three-pointer by veteran CJ Bruton in overtime effectively sealed the victory.
