The Hawks remain unbeaten, while the Wellington Saints and the Taranaki Mountain Airs also got wins in the National Basketball League last night.

The Hawks were trailing by six at the half time against the Otago Gold Nuggets, but managed to pull through in the second half, with a final score 82-72.

It's the seventh straight win for the Hawks who play tomorrow against the Southland Sharks.

In Wellington the Saints nearly let a 21 fourth quarter lead slip away, as the Nelson Giants got to within four with fifty seconds left.

The Saints were able to hold on for their fourth straight win, thanks to Jason Crowe who had season highs in both points and assists with 22 and 16.

The Giants now slump to their fourth loss in a row, and are in a must win game tomorrow against the Manawatu Jets if they wish to keep their play off hopes alive.

Taranaki return to the top four after a convincing 100-77 win over the Harbour Heat.

Heat now move to the bottom of the table with the Sharks losing their third on the trot.
