Chiefs All Black Aaron Cruden has scored 13 points as the visitors beat the Sharks 18-12 in Durban to return to the top of the super rugby competition.

Cruden scored two tries as the Chiefs went on to seal their seventh straight win

The Chiefs have 35 points from eight matches, two points ahead of the second-placed Stormers.

The home side enjoyed plenty of possession and territorial superiority at Kings Park, but were let down by their handling skills.

All their points came from the boot of their first five, Patrick Lambie.
