The recent All Black assistant coach Wayne Smith has confirmed he met with England coach Stuart Lancaster in South Africa about being involved with their three-Test summer tour of the Republic, which occurs during a break in the Super Rugby season.
Smith, the current assistant coach with Super Rugby side the Chiefs, says he's given himself 10 days to make a decision about a coaching future with England, and he has an out clause to allow him to pursue this option.
He says he has to weigh up the lure of staying with family in Waikato and the Chiefs project against his desire to coach internationally again, as well as whether he can coach against the All Blacks.
But Smith admits the money on offer in Europe is in another stratosphere and is incomparable to New Zealand - which is the same for coaches as it is for players.
But he says it's not the money that will sway his decision.
Smith was in Cape Town for the Chiefs game against the Stormers.
