The annual congress of world football's controlling body FIFA is to be presented with a proposal limiting mandates for its president and officials, and barring election for anyone over the age of 72.
The suggestion is part of a long-term process aimed at cleaning up soccer's corruption-plagued governing body and making it more transparent.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter is currently in his fourth term, having been re-elected unopposed last year at the age of 75.
Next month's congress will also vote on a suggestion to increase FIFA's executive committee to include a representative of women's football, who must be female.
